RedMetal

/ Georgina Paton

I am an Australian metal artist–designer who began my career as a silversmith. I have always experimented with a variety of metals and techniques from different disciplines in the quest for innovation and to serve ever-expanding creative goals. This openness has led me, since 2004, to add blacksmithing to my skills to realise larger-scale, sculptural designs. I create uniquely sensual pieces that are thought-provoking works of art combining the erotic genre with social comment.

/ current work / temptations [open view]

Temptations is a contemporary interpretation of the biblical story of forbidden fruit, from snakes and apples to penises and flesh. The three hand-forged metal penises with Prince Albert piercings rise from their granite-like gonads that support the vessel, which contains all imaginable desires and temptations of the flesh. This is the second piece in my series, “Forbidden Fruit”.
